Description
Explore the Central Southern North Island. Travel to Napier for the first night. Then onto Waipukarau, Norsewood, Dannevirke, Masterton. We cover Martinborough, Greytown during Christmas in July celebrations, Featherston, Cape Palliser. Then across to Wellington. Travel by train through the middle of country back to Hamilton.
Highlights of the region is Ngawi beach. A unique fishing village with old crawler tractors- Bulldozer capital of the world. (as seen on Country Calendar recently). Fell Locomotive Museum, the Tui Brewery and Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre. No visit to this region is complete without visiting a winery or two and a beautiful garden or historic home. There is one unique structure which we must visit – Stonehenge Aotearoa.
