Description
Many of us are not aware of the rich history of some of the areas in our region. Many places have been the scene of thriving industries like timber and boatbuilding, farming, and agriculture. On this trip we will travel to the Puketoki reserve where we will be joined by representatives of the Omokoroa Historical society who will talk to us through the diverse history of logging in that area We will then move on into Omokoroa and learn about the early settlers and farmers and see the statue of the original settlers Tice Gellibrand carved out of one of the trees located on his property. There will be opportunity over lunch to talk further before a couple more interesting stops on the way home. Includes: Door to door transport, attraction entry fees + lunch
