Ever wondered who are the first responders in an emergency and how did they get there? Today we will head to Rotorua where we will be given a tour of the Fire & Emergency training centre. We will find out about this group of New Zealanders known as first responders or firefighters. Over 14,000 NZ Fire and Emergency staff – 12,000 of which are volunteers train here. It is an extraordinary group of ordinary people with a deep sense of compassion, dedication, and skill.
