Today we head to Cambridge with morning tea enroute to visit a working Robotic Dairy Farm. Here we will listen to the story behind producing New Zealand’s liquid gold. This is a 120-year-old, 5th generation Farm.150-300 Cows are milked voluntarily when they want to, and you will be able to view this. Discover concepts of animal breeding and hear how best practices are engaged to manage quality with balanced environmental impact. Visit the milking shed and learn how today’s farmer optimizes herd output, and view the cows self-manage their milking. After the farm tour we will head to the gorgeous Old Creamery for lunch (own expense).
