Description
The tradition of monastic hospitality is as old as the history of the Benedictine way of life itself. From the vast guest halls of the great European Abbeys to the simple wayside hostels of humbler monasteries, monks and nuns have welcomed travellers for 1500 years and they still do today here at Tyburn Monastery. Tyburn is located near Rotorua and the convent has a purpose-built guesthouse with private ensuite rooms. Their hospitality is wonderfully warm but non-intrusive. The retreat centre sits on the hillside overlooking Lake Ohaukuri with sunny decks to sit & relax, read or contemplate. The nuns invite you to take some time to retreat, rest & recharge. This is NOT a guided or silent retreat and is open to anybody regardless of christian or religious beliefs. This is your personal retreat, yes you can speak but the nuns encourage quietness. Your meals & linen is supplied. Spaces are limited.
Includes: Door to door transport, accommodation & all meals.
