On 10th June 1886 Mount Tarawera suffered a volcanic eruption which split the mountain in half. Prior to that time tourists would come from England and Europe to view what they called the eighth wonder of the world the Pink and White terraces. These natural features were lost in the eruption but have now been discovered at the bottom of lake Rotomahana. For this exciting day out, we make our way to Rotorua and then down to the Waimangu Volcanic valley. From the entry to the valley, we will be shuttled down through the volcanic area to the lake to join the boat for a 45-minute tour of the lake. The local guide will provide a commentary as you sit back onboard and enjoy this pristine lake.
Includes: Door to Door Transport, Lake Cruise + morning tea.
